My Story
I was born to Indian immigrants from Tanzania in a small town in rural New York State. My family valued education above anything else, seeing it as a means to personal and professional fulfillment. During my youth, I attended public primary and middle school before moving to an independent boarding school. Both experiences played important roles in the person that I have become.
I have enjoyed a diverse career that spans the practice of law in a large firm to forging a path as an educational leader and advocate for school change. I have seen student mental health decline as a result of high stakes and high pressure schooling environments. I have also seen students that others have written off flourish when given the right care and are actively involved in their own learning.
I have served as a classroom teacher, advisor, coach, Head of Upper School, and Head of School. Even as my responsibilities grew, I always offered an experiential class and individual instruction. I have walked alongside countless students and families as they find the best path for their desired outcomes. In fact, it is this that brings me the most joy - the opportunity to partner with students and families to ensure that they have the information and opportunities to pursue a truly individual education safari.
